In 2007, the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign (NYADMC) launched an anti-meth campaign in key states where methamphetamine use was most prevalent (based on national surveys). The effort included TV, radio, online banners and print advertising, and news media outreach with a message of hope-communities and families can fight back against meth, and help is available.
In 2008, the NYADMC extended the effort to a national audience, using a tiered strategy to ensure that states with the largest burden of meth use receive the most advertising coverage. As part of this strategy, all 50 states received radio and print ads, 31 states received online ads, 18 states received print ads, and 10 states received TV ads. Some of our most innovative work was found in the online banners created for the anti-meth campaign. The banners reinforced the message of hope—communicating the need to prevent and reduce meth use and motivating those who may be using (or know someone who's using) to seek treatment. All banners drove users to methresources.gov. Requires: Macromedia Flash 8 plugin Internet Explorer 6.0+ |
